In the world there are between 6,000 and 7,000 different languages. The number of dialects is much higher. In each place, in each region, there are differences in pronunciation, construction, and also lexical differences. So, the same language has a different meaning in each of the places where it is spoken; these geographical variants are called dialects. And there are also geographical variants -dialects- of  Nahuatl, Maya, Otomi, Quechua, attending to the different places where they are spoken. The dialects are always related to a clear geographical demarcation. They are part of the regional varieties of a language. So the dialects are the linguistic systems with less coverage.
